(VOVworld) - The Russian air force carried 33 air strikes over the past 24 hours, destroying over 49 positions of the armed militant groups in several Syrian areas.

 According to Syria’s news agency SANA, the air raids destroyed dozens of bases and heavily-fortified positions of the jihadi groups in the suburb of Damascus, the northern province of Aleppo, the northwestern province of Idlib, the coastal city of Latkia and the central province of Hama.

Meanwhile, the Russian military announced that Russian air strike hit a training camp of the Islamic State in Latkia and a command post of Al-Nusra Front, Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria.

Moscow said it has hit about 500 terrorist targets since launching a bombing campaign in Syria on September 30.
