(VOVWORLD) - The Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement calling the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan, a politicized event marked by anti-Russian and anti-Chinese sentiments.

The statement says that once again the outcome of the G7 meeting is a number of politicized decisions aimed at drawing fault lines in international relations.
The Russian foreign ministry said that a panicked response to the fundamental process of establishing a multipolar order is forcing the G7 members to direct all of their efforts to fomenting Russophobic and Sinophobic hysteria.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said the G7 is in an all-out confrontation with Russia. The US, with the UK's support, is forcing its allies to make decisions that are unfavorable to them, such as increasing military spending to support Kyiv, assisting refugees, and buying gas from the US, the Ministry said.
At the same time, the G7 countries do not hesitate to draw non-Western countries to their side and prevent the development of relations with Russia and China, it noted.
In a development related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday congratulated the Wagner mercenary group and the Russian army on their claimed capture of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.
