Russia, China oppose new US sanctions

(VOVWORLD) - Russia and China on Tuesday condemned new US sanctions on sixteen companies and individuals accused of being connected to North Korea’s nuclear missile program.

Russian Vice Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that sanctioning 4 Russian citizens and 1 state-owned company is a continuity of policies of the Obama administration which makes president Trump’s claims that he wants to normalize relations with Russia less than convincing. Ryabkov said Russia always prefers to resolve tensions with the US through dialogues but that Russia is preparing the inevitable retaliation for the new sanctions.
