Russia says Ukraine lost 380 soldiers in Kursk in 24 hours

(VOVWORLD) - Ukraine lost as many as 380 soldiers and 30 armored vehicles in the Kursk oblast over the past 24 hours and 5 Ukrainian soldiers were captured, the Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday.

The Ministry said units of Russia’s Battlegroup North, supported by army aviation and artillery, thwarted attempts by Ukraine’s assault force to attack settlements in the region.

Russian combat UAVs targeted 13 assembly areas of Ukrainian reserve personnel and equipment in Sumy province. During a single day of combat operations, Ukraine lost 380 servicemen, 30 armored vehicles, 6 artillery pieces, and 9 transport vehicles.

In total, Ukraine has lost 7,000 servicemen, 74 tanks, 35 infantry fighting vehicles, 500 armored personnel carriers and armored fighting vehicles, 5 anti-aircraft missile systems, and 9 multiple launch rocket systems, including 4 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems.

Kirov regional governor Alexander Sokolov said Ukraine carried out 5 consecutive drone attacks in the region on Wednesday morning. Russian air defense forces shot down 5 UAVs in the Kirov region and 3 others fell in the fuel tank area of the Zenit plant in the city of Kotelniç. No one was injured.
