Russian press widely reports on President Putin's visit to Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -TASS News Agency on Wednesday ran an article quoting Le Hoai Trung, member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and Head of the Party Central Committee’s External Relations Commission, as saying that President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Vietnam on Wednesday and Thursday is being made at the invitation of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The visit will help strengthen Vietnam's position and affirm its consistent foreign policy adopted at the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, said Trung.

According to Interfax, during a state visit to Vietnam, the Russian President will meet with Vietnamese leaders, focusing on cementing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam in trade, economics, science, technology and humanitarian issues, as well as exchange of views on global and regional issues.

Ria Novosti quoted Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi as saying that the visit gives both sides the opportunity to sign and implement new cooperation agreements, creating motivation for the development of bilateral relations. These agreements will strengthen the political and strategic relationship between the two countries, he said.
