(VOVworld) - A meeting was held in HCM City on Monday to mark the national day of the Russian Federation (June 12) and 20 years of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Treaty (1994-2014).
Anatoly Vasilievich Borovik, Russian Consul General in HCM City said that in its foreign policy, Russia wants to expand equitable and mutually beneficial cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries, including Vietnam – a reliable partner. He added that the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership has developed well in the areas of politics, diplomacy, economics, and culture.
Nguyen Thi Hong, vice chairwoman of the HCM City People’s Committee, praised Russia’s tremendous achievements and its expanding role in the world. The two countries are expanding their cooperation in oil & gas, energy, military, and tourism, she said, adding that Vietnam is attractive to Russian tourists. Vietnam and Russia will mark the 65th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations early next year.
