Russia-Ukraine conflict not included in BRICS summit agenda

(VOVWORLD) - The conflict between Russia and Ukraine will not be included in the agenda of the BRICS summit scheduled to open on Tuesday in Kazan, Russia, but participants can feel free to discuss the issue, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.

More than 200 events will be held within the framework of the 3-day BRICS Summit involving delegates from around the world, including heads of state, senior leaders of member countries, and a number of guest countries.

As the host country and the rotating chairman of BRICS this year, Russia will focus on strengthening multilateralism and promoting economic cooperation among member countries.

Entitled "Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security", the BRICS Summit will discuss cooperation between BRICS countries and the Global South in addressing issues on the international agenda, including regional and international situations, sustainable development, and food and energy security.
