At the summit in Pakistan’s capital city Islamabad, SCO members voiced concerns over shrinking investments, unstable supply chains, and market turmoil caused by protectionist measures and international trade barriers. They decried protectionist measures, unilateral sanctions, and trade restrictions that undermine the multilateral trading system and hinder sustainable development.

In his closing remarks, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced the transfer of the Chairmanship of the Council to Russia. The next meeting of the Council will take place next year in Russia.
