(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam's seafood export turnover in the first half of this year reached over 4.1 billion USD, up more than 12% over the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

VASEP attributed the surge to demand recovery in the US and the EU, which are Vietnam’s two major markets and a sharp increase in exports to potential markets.
Seafood exports in June continued to increase by 20% over the same period last year to hit 865 million USD.
With the current growth momentum, Vietnam’s seafood export target of 8.8-9 billion USD by the end of 2021 is feasible, said VASEP.
