(VOVworld) - Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh yesterday/ on Monday met in Hanoi with Montague Winfield, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Prisoners of War and Missing Personnel. They discussed the search for the remains of soldiers killed during the war in Vietnam.

Vinh said Viet Nam considers co-operating in the search for US servicemen who went missing during the war a gesture of goodwill and a humanitarian act. He said this has led to cooperation on other legacies of the war, such as the disposal of unexploded ordnance, detoxification of Agent Orange/Dioxin, and humanitarian support for victims’ families.
