Security Council concerned about major threat from North Korea missiles
(VOVWORLD) - The UN Security Council gathered behind closed doors on Wednesday for an emergency meeting about North Korea’s latest ballistic missile test which member states consider a major threat, French Ambassador to the UN Nicolas de Riviere said.

Riviere told reporters that it's a threat to the world and to North Korea’s neighbors like South Korea and Japan. The missiles fell off Japan’s exclusive economic zone. A political dialogue and solution with North Korea are needed, according to Riviere.
In a statement, the UK’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the tests are a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions and a threat to regional peace and security. The US responded the same way.
South Korea’s Foreign Ministry announced that its diplomats talked with US counterparts on Thursday to discuss the Korean peninsula situation following the tests.
