(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnam-Laos ties cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, President Souphanouvong and generations of leaders of the two Parties and States, have become a special, pure, loyal relationship that is rare in modern world history, Party General Secretary To Lam said on Monday.

The Party leader delivered a policy speech at the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration in Vientiane with the attendance Party General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.
In his remarks themed "Inheriting the great friendship, cultivating special solidarity, consolidating comprehensive cooperation and promoting strategic ties between Vietnam and Laos in the new period," General Secretary Lam said solidarity and close-knit bonding are the source of relations between the two countries.
He said the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic ties between Vietnam and Laos are invaluable assets left by the ancestors and previous generations of revolutionary leaders of the two countries. The General Secretary stressed the need to preserve, cultivate and promote this invaluable asset. That is the political responsibility, the sentiment, the honor, the reason for living and the conscience of the two peoples, he added.
