Special program marks 65 years of Truong Son Trail

(VOVWORLD) - A special program called "Truong Son - bare feet and iron wills" on Sunday evening recreated a brilliant milestone in Vietnam’s heroic history of fighting for national independence.

The event, marking the 65th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Trail Opening Day and Truong Son Soldiers' Traditional Day on May 19, took place at the Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery in Quang Tri province.

The Ho Chi Minh Trail was a network of roads and trails that ran from North Vietnam to South Vietnam to transport troops and materials during the resistance war for national reunification.

Veteran Pham Tien Ich, Deputy Head of the Committee for Tradition of the Vietnam Truong Son Association, said, Our generation fought and devoted our youth to the cause of national liberation and unification. Thats our source of pride. Tradition education is necessary for future generations.”

The special program expressed the moral "When drinking water, remember the source" and deep gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom.
