At the granting ceremony, Sang said the accreditation shows the Party and State’s acknowledgement of the diplomats contribution to the country and national development. The State President said that in the complicated global and regional situation, diplomacy played an important role in the implementation of the guidelines of the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the long-term strategy on national construction and defence: "The diplomatic sector is facing a difficult but important task. The sector needs to exert more effort to reinforce a peaceful environment for development, helping to protect sovereignty and territorial integrity and solve challenges to national security. It is also necessary to bring into full play the leading role of the diplomatic sector in implementing comprehensive international integration policy while taking advantage of external resources in the interests of the country’s economic restructuring, industrialization and modernization in order to raise Vietnam’s status in the international arena".
Sang stressed the need to have competent diplomatic staff with the necessary experience to deal with a complicated workload related to national security and development, and other urgent upcoming global issues.
