(VOVWORLD) -A Syrian government delegation will attend peace talks held in Geneva this week.

UN spokeswoman Alessandra Vellucci told a news briefing that the Syrian delegation has not yet reached Geneva, but the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Steffan de Mistura, said he had received assurances that the Syrian government delegation plans to come on Wednesday for talks.
