Tension in Middle East heightened, Israel targets Hezbollah

(VOVWORLD) - Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon have intensified as Israeli Army General Herzi Halevi announced that Israel will continue to target Hezbollah forces. He emphasized that the attacks would be carried out "with continuous intensity" to prevent Hezbollah from regrouping and posing further threats to Israel's security.

The statement comes as Israel expands its military operations in the Gaza Strip, tightening border controls and restricting humanitarian access, exacerbating hardships for civilians in the area.

Beyond the Gaza Strip, Israel has also launched heavy airstrikes on Syria. According to Syrian state television, the strikes hit several locations, including a car factory in the industrial city of Hasyaa in Homs province, injuring at least one person and destroying aid trucks. Another airstrike caused a large fire in the town of Maarin in Hama province, though no casualties were reported. Meanwhile, a significant explosion occurred in the city of Daraa, with authorities currently investigating the incident.
