This is the first official visit to Vietnam by a Thai Prime Minister in 11 years since the visit of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha in 2014.

It comes at a time when Vietnam and Thailand are preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2026. The visit aims to elevate the Vietnam-Thailand relationship to a new, more substantive and effective level.
