(VOVworld) – Travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh city report that the number of foreign tourists coming to the city during the Lunar New Year holiday has been higher than predicted.
The Vietnam General Administration of Tourism said tourists from key markets coming to Vietnam increased in January, 2014. Visitors mostly came from Russia, Hongkong, China, Germany, and the Philippines.
Almost all resorts and hotels in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province have been full in recent days.
The Culture, Sports, and Tourism Department of Thua Thien – Hue province said the province welcomed 60,000 tourists during the week-long Lunar New Year holiday, 20% higher than the previous Tet. More than 40,000 of them came from the Republic of Korea, the US, France, Germany, Australia, and the UK.
