Mr. Lam encouraged local residents to continue helping each other in overcoming these hardships, assuring them that the Party and the State would do everything possible to help restore normalcy to their lives as soon as possible.

He called for drastic measures, from prevention to rescue and relief efforts, to ensure the swift delivery of essential supplies to people in flooded areas and the safety of all those involved in search and rescue work.

During a working session with the provincial authorities, he stressed that the top priority is to rescue people with the armed forces playing the core role. The leader urged a thorough review of areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides, dike breaches and flooding with a view to early relocating residents to safety, regular monitoring and warnings of high risk areas, and continuous inspections of dikes, reservoirs and bridges so as to promptly address any emerging threats.

He also requested swift actions to quickly restore normal social activities, production, trade, and environmental sanitation, including repairing transport networks, power grids, communication networks, schools, and hospitals, preventing post-flood disease outbreaks and facilitating access to loans to resume production.

The leader asked the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, along with various ministries, agencies, and localities, to call for donations and support both materially and spiritually from organizations, businesses, individuals, and the entire society for the victims.

On the occasion, the VFF Central Committee 833,000 USD to Tuyen Quang province to support recovery efforts following the typhoon.

The same day,  General Secretary and President To Lam chaired a working session with Phu Tho province on overcoming the consequences of typhoon Yagi. Mr. Lam stressed the importance of Phong Chau bridge which collapsed on September 10, saying this is a vital traffic route, not only for Phu Tho province but also for surrounding provinces.
The General Secretary and President requested the Government to coordinate with the province to survey, evaluate, and develop a plan to rebuild the bridge as soon as possible.
