Mr. Lam was speaking at a working session with the Committee of Party Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday to discuss the implementation of the foreign policy outlined by the 13th National Party Congress and the development of Vietnam's diplomatic sector. He also extended his congratulations to employees of the diplomatic sector on the occasion of the sector's 79th anniversary and outlined its future tasks.

Lam said: "We must enhance diplomacy in the new era by inheriting and advancing the foreign policy established by the 13th National Party Congress. The ultimate goal of our foreign affairs activities is to safeguard the highest national interests, strengthen the Party, and build a prosperous socialist Vietnam with a prominent role in global economic politics and human civilization, all for the prosperity and happiness of the people. Vietnamese diplomacy must defend national interests, serve the people, and strive for peace, independence, national sovereignty, democracy, and social progress for the prosperous development of nations in the region and the world. Wherever the legitimate interests of Vietnamese citizens lie, national interests will be extended there."

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that in the new era, Vietnamese diplomacy must rise to new heights to meet its new and noble responsibilities, positioning itself as a "vanguard" force that makes significant contributions to the cause of national construction, development, and defense.
