Earlier, Trump announced he might ratchet up his trade war with China to at least 300 billion USD on Chinese goods, but didn’t reveal which Chinese goods would be affected.

Commerce Ministry said the same day that China will fight to the end if the US decides to escalate trade tensions. The US’s use of "ultimate pressure" has caused serious setbacks to trade negotiations, and the future direction of talks will depend on Washington, ministry spokesman Gao Feng, said at a weekly media briefing. China will have to take countermeasures if the United States decides to unilaterally escalate trade tensions, Gao said.
