Turkey captures eight suspected IS members

(VOVworld) – On Monday, Turkish security forces captured eight foreigners, who are suspected members of the Islamic State (IS).

Turkish officials said three suspects were arrested in the border town of Hatay while trying to illegally cross into Turkey from Syria on Sunday. Dogan News reported on the same day that two foreign suspects were detained at Ermis border station in Gaziantep province.

Earlier, three other suspects were detained in Kilis province on March 18. The suspects have been handed to the authorities. The captures came amid the Turkish security forces are on high alert to raid IS militants.
