Turkey, Russia conduct joint patrol in Syria

(VOVWORLD) - Turkish and Russian troops carried out their ninth joint patrol along a key highway in northwestern Syria, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

The mission was conducted with the participation of land and air elements, according to the statement. The previous joint patrol was carried out on Tuesday.

The M4 highway, about 30 km from the southern border of Turkey, passes through Aleppo and Latakia city. The patrol is part of the two countries' efforts to enforce a ceasefire in Idlib.
