(VOVworld) – Two Nigerian passengers with symptoms of Ebola fever were quarantined at the Tropical Hospital and are in stable conditions.

According to health officials, there is a possibility that these people are not infected with Ebola. If their health conditions improve, the two passengers will be supervised in the community. Nguyen Van Vinh Chau, Director of the Tropical Hospital in Ho Chi Minh city, said: “The patients have undergone different tests including those for malaria, dengue fever and have had X-ray. The two passengers have shown no symptom of Ebola infection”.

Earlier, two Nigerian passengers showed symptoms of a fever when entering Vietnam via Tan Son Nhat International Airport. They were taken to the isolation ward of the Tropical Hospital, and had blood samples taken for further testing. On Tuesday, the patients’ samples were sent to Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh city for further testing in the US.
