In an interview with the British broadcaster ITV News, Zelensky said there is every possibility of ending the conflict in Ukraine this year, especially when US President Donald Trump desires it. To that end, he called on Trump and the EU to introduce total sanctions against Russia.

Earlier President Putin said that if there is a desire to find a compromise solution, negotiations on Ukraine can be held with anyone.

Putin said Ukraine needs to find a way to cancel the decree banning negotiations previously signed by Zelensky. If Zelensky himself wants to participate in the negotiations, Putin expressed his readiness to appoint specialized people to do so.

In an interview with NBC last Saturday, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said that the US will discuss with partners how to end the conflict in Ukraine this week, but Europe should take responsibility for Ukraine’s security guarantees.
