Addressing a conference on Afghanistan in London, US Secretary of State John Kerry said he believes the policies outlined by the Afghani government will result in a more stable and prosperous Afghanistan. Kerry said Ghani's government has already taken steps to combat money laundering and corruption, improve the country's fiscal situation, and foster ties with neighbors, including Pakistan, but that Afghanistan still faces security challenges.

Afghani President Ashraf Ghani said he hopes his country will never again need combat support from foreign troops, just socio-economic support from the international community.
