US Independence Day marked in Ho Chi Minh City

(VOVWORLD) - The 248th Independence Day of the United States of America was celebrated in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday by the municipal Union of Friendship Organizations.

Pham Xuan Hoang An, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-US Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the city is proud of its close relationship with American twinning cities – San Francisco and New York.

Ho Chi Minh City believes that the two sides will continue to create more favorable conditions for cultural exchanges to enhance mutual understanding and comprehensive cooperation between their peoples, he said.

Acting Deputy Consul General of the US in Ho Chi Minh City Christian Le said the US wishes to work with the Vietnamese Government and people to seize opportunities in the coming years for the development of a strong, prosperous, independent, and resilient Vietnam.
