Blinken said that thanks to the US's strong diplomatic support for peace in Afghanistan, conflicting parties in Afghanistan have reached a sustainable political agreement and ceasefire.
According to Blinken, the US is reviewing an agreement signed with the Taliban in February, 2020, to determine whether the Taliban is in compliance with its commitments to sever ties with terrorist groups, reduce violence, and negotiate with the Afghan Government.
He pledged to consult with the Afghan government, NATO, and other allies on a collective strategy to build a stable, safe, sovereign, and democratic future for Afghanistan.
