(VOVWORLD) - US President-elect Donald Trump vowed at a pre-inauguration rally in Washington, DC, on Monday that ending the wave of immigration from Mexico into the US would be a top priority of his first day in office.
Trump promised to deport millions of illegal immigrants, though it will take time and be costly.
Addressing thousands of supporters at Capital One Arena, Trump declared that, upon taking the oath of office, he would wield his presidential powers to make significant changes targeting a wide range of issues, from immigration and military policy to environmental regulations and diversity programs.
He also vowed to start constructing the "Great Iron Dome missile defense shield," and find a peaceful solution to end the conflict in Ukraine.
