(VOVworld) - The US State of Oregon wants to boost trade and investment relations with Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular. Denny Doyle, the mayor of Beaverton, Oregon, who is leading a delegation of the Portland Business Alliance, expressed that hope at a meeting with Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee, on Thursday.

The mayor said Oregon is ready to share its experience with HCM City in urban development, environmental pollution, and improving education. Chairman Phong asked that Oregon help HCM City build and manage a smart city for sustainable development. He said local authorities are ready to connect domestic and US enterprises for collaborative activities, in education, trade, and investment.
