US, Ukraine leaders hold phone talk to promote defense cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that he had a productive phone talks with US President Donald Trump that focused on ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Zelensky said on X that Ukraine supports an immediate ceasefire and has proposed several options to Moscow. He said Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement with the US for the supply of American-made UAVs, at an estimated value of 30 billion USD.
President Trump has set an August 8 deadline for Russia to end its special military operation or face tougher sanctions, including a potential 100% tax on countries purchasing Russian oil.
The US State Department on Tuesday confirmed that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is scheduled to meet with Russian leaders in Moscow on Wednesday.
