US urges Iran to cooperate with the IAEA

(VOVWORLD) - The US urged Iran on Tuesday to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), noting that Tehran is moving further away from compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, US State Department spokesman Ned Price told a press briefing.

Price said the US will be in close consultation with the UN nuclear watchdog to discuss appropriate action in support of the agency’s dealings with Iran. 

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s announced Tuesday Iran has halted its implementation of the Additional Protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Iran began restricting international inspections of its nuclear facilities on Tuesday to pressure European countries and the Biden administration to lift crippling economic sanctions and fully restore the 2015 nuclear deal.
