VAT reimbursement for foreigners at Tan Son Nhat Airport applauded

(VOVworld)-The pilot program to reimburse VAT for foreigners at Tan Son Nhat international airport has been applauded after 3 months of operation. More than 200 foreign travelers claimed back their VAT in September worth 750 million dong. Le Van Tien, a customs officer in the airport, says this will boost foreign tourists’ spending and promote the images of Vietnamese goods: “We need to promote communications for visitors through the delivery of leaflets on their arrival. The Tax Department will ask retailers to give travelers instruction of tax reimbursement procedures in line with international practices and local regulations.”
