(VOVworld) – The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan on Friday sent a letter of congratulations to the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha on the occasion of its 35th founding anniversary.

Nhan wrote that the foundation of the shangha illustrates the harmony and voluntary solidarity of all Buddhist organizations and Buddhism branches in Vietnam to meet the national need when it was reunited.
Over the past 35 years, all monks, nuns, dignitaries, and Buddhist followers have overcome difficulties, challenges, and joined in efforts for national construction and protection.
Nhan said he believed the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha will continue to respond and implement the 12th Party congress and the movement, calling on the entire society to unite and build new rural landscapes, civilized urban areas, protect the environment, and respond to climate change.
He noted that the shangha should make comprehensive preparations for the success of the eighth National Buddhist Congress scheduled for next year, gradually turning Vietnam into a global Buddhism center and contributing to world peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable growth.
