Addressing a national forum on the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises held in Hanoi on Wednesday, the Party chief described digital technology as a key driving force for socio-economic development.
Digital transformation is not just an inevitable trend but also an urgent requirement for Vietnam to narrow the development gap with the region and the world, he said, affirming that digital transformation is a long-term strategy aimed at enhancing national competitiveness and strengthening Vietnam’s position on the global economic map.
To this end, strong commitments from the Government, along with the engagement of businesses, workers, and the entire people are needed, according to Party leader To Lam.
“It is necessary to design more policies to attract talent in high technology, improve the working environment, and support scientific research and innovation, to boost domestic capacity and create world-class digital technology enterprises,” said Mr. Lam. “A digital technology ecosystem should be enhanced, where businesses, universities, and research institutes are closely linked.”
