Vietnam aims to welcome 65 million visitors in 2022

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam aims to welcome 65 million tourists, including five million international visitors in 2022, and earn 17.4 billion USD.

Despite the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam's tourism is showing signs of recovery. 40-50% of visitors have chosen Phu Quoc in Kien Giang province as a destination for their Lunar New Year holiday.

As of January 23 Vietnam had welcomed more than 8.500 foreign tourists to Phu Quoc, Khanh Hoa, and Quang Nam in the first phase of a pilot program to resume international tourism. The visitors mostly come from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Singapore, the US, the UK, and Canada.
