(VOVWORLD) - Flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on Wednesday launched its first direct flight between Ho Chi Minh city and Dien Bien province.

Flight VN1160, using an Airbus A321, departed at 9:35AM from Tan Son Nhat Airport and arrived at Dien Bien Airport 2 hours and 20 minutes later. There will be two flights per week.
Vietnam Airlines is also offering flights from Dien Bien to Hanoi and up to 30-32 daily flights from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. Passengers can combine these routes to flexibly plan their trips and access more tourist sites in the region.
