Vietnam and South Africa boost bilateral cooperation


Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung held talks in Hanoi on Thursday with the visiting Speaker of the National Assembly of South Africa Max Vuyisile Sisulu. Both sides agreed to boost cooperation between the 2 legislative bodies to boost economic, trade and cultural ties. Speaker Sisulu said the two sides should soon establish the South Africa Vietnam Friendship Parliament Association, based on which experience and cooperation would be further boosted between the two governments and assemblies.

Sisulu invited the Vietnamese NA leader to visit and attend the 100th founding anniversary of the African National Congress next year, to which he is a member of the National Executive Committee.  The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received the South African Speaker. He welcomed South African businesses to come to Vietnam for long-term investment and trade operation.
