Vietnam attends Francophone’s ministerial conference on peacekeeping

(VOVworld) – A 2-day Ministerial Conference on Peacekeeping in the Francophone Area concluded in Paris on Thursday, focusing on ways to improve peacekeeping campaigns in French-speaking countries.

Sen. Lt. Gen Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Head of the Defence Ministry’s Steering Committee for Peacekeeping, led a Vietnamese delegation to the event, which attracted representatives from 56 countries and international organisations. The conference aims to improve UN peacekeeping missions and seek solutions to challenges in the context of increasing conflicts around the world.

The Vietnamese delegation joined discussion sessions to learn from other countries’ international peacekeeping experience. General Tuan said since the establishment of a strategic partnership in 2013, Vietnam and France have stepped up cooperation, with peacekeeping cooperation being an important connection.
