Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang hailed the event's significance as it was held after the two countries elevated their bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Vietnam and Australia have effectively implemented the 2020-2023 Action Plan and the Enhanced Economic Cooperation Program to 2025. Vietnam and Australia are among each other's top 10 largest trade partners. Last year’s two-way trade reached 13.8 billion USD, doubling that of 10 years ago.

The two countries have established increasingly close cooperation, especially in producing strategic goods. However, the potential for economic cooperation is still enormous, said Thang.

He added “We hope that Australia will be Vietnam’s top foreign investor again, continue to work with Vietnam in tapping new development opportunities, cooperate in pioneering fields such as artificial intelligence, financial technology, high-tech agriculture, human resource training for high-tech industries, high-level management, digital transformation, green transformation, and energy transformation, opening new pages in bilateral relationship.”

President of the Australian Senate Sue Lines shared her experience in inclusive governance and leadership in Australia and affirmed that Australia is ready to work with Vietnam in implementing ambitious agendas toward shared prosperity for both countries.
