Participants heard reports by Geir Pedersen, Special Envoy for Syria, and Mark Lowcock, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs.

Anh urged all parties to engage constructively in the upcoming meeting of the Constitutional Committee. He noted that the current relatively calm situation is a good opportunity for dialogue and negotiation. Anh voiced his concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Syria and called for greater cooperation to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches all parts of Syria.

Anh chaired a meeting of the ten current non-permanent members of the Council to discuss situations in Palestine, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan.
