Vietnam encourages US investors: Prime Minister

(VOVWORLD) -Visiting US President Donald Trump met with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi on Sunday.

At their meeting, both leaders pledged to continue strengthening bilateral ties on the basis of respecting each other’s   independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the political system for the people’s benefits and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development.

PM Phuc and President Trump exchanged views on ways to enhance the Vietnam-US cooperation in economics, trade, and investment. They agreed to build  a cooperative framework on the basis of mutual benefits, minimize trade disputes, and effectively implement economic agreements.

Mr. Phuc said Vietnam is improving its investment environment and encouraging US investors to do business in Vietnam.

Mr. Trump welcomed Vietnam’s active handling of prioritized trade issues, including the opening of markets for American agricultural and industrial products and IT services.

Both leaders agreed on continued coordination at regional cooperative mechanisms, including the upcoming East Asia Summit in the Philippines.

Early Sunday afternoon, President Trump left Hanoi, concluding his 2-day visit to Vietnam.
