Vietnam, Estonia pledge stronger cooperation in multiple areas
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on Estonia to act as an effective bridge to help Vietnamese products further penetrate the Nordic and European Union (EU) markets.

Mr. Chinh was speaking during talks with his Estonian counterpart Kristen Michal in Tallinn on Friday as part of his official visit to Estonia.
The two leaders agreed to enhance people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in tourism and culture. They pledged to closely coordinate, consult and support each other on international issues. The two sides emphasized international solidarity and respect for the rule of law and fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.
They affirmed their support for freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea on the basis of respecting the interests of coastal states in accordance with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). They agreed on the need to peacefully resolve disputes on the basis of international law, not using or threatening to use force.
At the end of the talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an MoU on cooperation in digital transformation and digital economy between the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology and the Estonian Ministry of Justice and Digital Transformation.
