Vietnam, France strengthen scientific cooperation

(VOVworld) - The Public Interest Group (GIP) of the European Consortium for Asian Field Study (ECAF) was inaugurated on Tuesday in Paris to promote social science research and teaching, especially in linguistics, culture, history, archaeology, and religion. A delegation of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) headed by Professor Nguyen Quang Thuan during their 5-day stay attended the ECAF General Meeting and the signing ceremony of a chapter to the GIP establishment. Participants in the GIP ECAF chapter agreed to provide approaches and institution frameworks in Asia, develop a joint program on Asian studies managed by members, and networking utilize existing research centers for sharing available documents and promoting Europe-Asia cooperation dialogues between researcher communities in the two regions.

Professor Thuan and Director of the French College EPHE, Doctor Denis Pelletier took this occasion to sign a cooperative agreement on teaching and researching culture and archaeology.
