Vietnam, Japan eye greater cooperation potential in emerging sectors

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Muto Yoji agreed to accelerate the cooperation agreements reached during Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru’s recent visit to Vietnam.

During Thursday’s talk in Tokyo as part of his working visit to Japan for the Future of Asia Forum, Mr. Dung said the two sides agreed on the potential for further economic, trade, and investment collaboration, especially in emerging fields such as technology and innovation.

On the same day, Mr. Dung paid a courtesy call to former Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, received the Chairman of SK Group and the Executive Chairman of Japan’s AEON Group, and held talks with Governor of Mie Prefecture Ichimi Katsuyuki to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation and human resource training between the two countries.
