Vietnam joins 4P meeting advocating solidarity, multilateralism, trust-building

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son attended a meeting on the Paris Pact for People and the Planet (4P) on Wednesday, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, and Special Envoy of the 4P – former Senegalese President Macky Sall.

Deputy Prime Minister Son, together with heads of states and international organizations, agreed that solidarity, multilateralism, and trust-building are essential foundations for addressing current global challenges.

They emphasized the need to enhance the role and voice of developing countries within the framework of global governance and international economic and financial institutions and called for new solutions for developing countries’ debt burden.

Mr. Son told President Macron that he wants to meet with the President to discuss bilateral cooperation in writing a new chapter in Vietnam-France relations that will promote the prosperity of both nations and the world.

He also discussed bilateral issues and directions for cooperation under the 4P framework with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Kenyan President William Ruto, and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
