(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam Engineering Company Rotation 3, together with working groups from the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security, held a solemn ceremony at the UN Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) on Tuesday, to mark the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day.

In his address, Brigadier General Ameer Muhammad Umrani, Deputy Force Commander of UNISFA, praised Vietnam’s declaration of independence 80 years ago as a testament to the nation’s strength and unwavering spirit. He noted that Vietnam has since earned global recognition for its remarkable development.
Vietnam has made considerable contributions to global peacekeeping, and Vietnam Engineering Company Rotation 3 exemplifies its commitment, General Umrani said, adding that their efforts have advanced the peace process and fostered strong, respectful ties with the local community and authorities which are the key factors in UNISFA’s success in Abyei.
During the ceremony, delegates enjoyed martial-arts and cultural performances and visited an exhibition of books, photos, ethnic costumes, and handicrafts made by the Engineering Company Rotation 3. A culinary corner featuring authentic Vietnamese dishes proved particularly popular.
