(VOVWORLD) -During the 4-day New Year holiday from Thursday to Sunday, the tourism industry welcomed and served approximately 3.5 million visitors, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism reported on Sunday.

The average occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments reached 51% nationwide; some key tourist destinations recorded higher rate of 65%.
Most popular tourist destinations are Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Mang Den, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Nha Trang.
Ho Chi Minh City had the largest number of visitors – 1.24 million, including 75,700 international visitors, an 83% increase compared with last year. Ninh Binh province welcomed over 723,000 visitors, including 178,000 international visitors. Quang Ninh province recorded approximately 657,000 visitors, including 70,500 foreigners.
Ms. Hoa Thieu Huyen, a resident of Quang Ninh province, said, “It’s so special as we ring in 2026. I really hope that I will continue to participate in even more lively concerts like this this year and next year."
“There are many activities to welcome 2026. It’s lively and I hope everyone will have a very successful New Year,” according to Ms. Dinh Thi Thao, a tourist from Hai Phong city.
The tourism industry aims to welcome 25 million international visitors and serve 150 million domestic tourists in 2026.
