Vietnam remembers victims of traffic accidents

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam marks World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in the country via a TV program organized by the National Traffic Safety Committee and Vietnam Television on Sunday evening.

Attending the program, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, sympathized and shared sadness and loss with all families of those who died or were injured by traffic accidents. The Deputy Prime Minister thanked individuals and organizations for rescuing and helping people suffering from traffic accidents and called on central and local state agencies, organizations, mass organizations, and all people to strictly abide by the law on traffic safety.

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims takes place on the third Sunday in November every year as the appropriate acknowledgment of victims of road traffic crashes and their families. It was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2005.
