Vietnam sends four more officers to serve as UN peacekeepers

(VOVWORLD) -The Ministry of National Defense on Sunday handed over the President's Decision to officers who will carry out United Nations peacekeeping missions in South Sudan, Central African Republic and the Abyei Area.

The sent officers include Lieutenant Colonel Do Thi Hieu who will be Training Officer at the MINUSCA mission, Central African Republic. Major Vu Thi Huong Thuy holds the position of Military Observer at the UNMISS mission, South Sudan. Captain Nguyen Phuong Linh will serve as Communications Officer at the MINUSCA mission, Central African Republic. Senior Lieutenant Le Khuong Duy will hold the position of Engineering Officer at the UNISFA mission, Abyei Area.

Vietnam has so far deployed 789 officers and staff to United Nations peacekeeping activities at three missions and United Nations Headquarters, seven of them are police officers and the rest are army officers.
